Our Story

Wovenmedia traces its roots to 2010, when founder Susie Opare-Abetia saw an opportunity in the shortcomings the networks delivering content to retail giants like Sam’s Club, Costco, and Best Buy. The technology behind these systems was antiquated, distribution was limited to TV screens and lacked a mobile option, and they were expensive to operate and to scale.

Susie decided to build a better solution and, with a hand-picked team of digital-out-of-home experts, began to conceptualize a whole new platform. The development would become the foundation of Wovenmedia, the WovenManager Content Management System (CMS).

Today, WovenManager and WovenContent offer a complete solution for DOOH and online video networks. Separate and combined, these market-leading cloud-based services provide the flexibility, responsiveness, capabilities, and depth that enterprises require.


Susie Opare-Abetia

Founder & CEO

Susie has 20+ years’ experience bringing groundbreaking media services and technologies to market in Europe and the US. She has worked for a number of companies in various technology, product development and senior management roles including the BBC, Abekas, Virage, and Premier Retail Networks. In late 2010 Susie saw a unique opportunity for a solution that would allow marketers and network operators to manage their own branded video networks on TV, web and mobile screens with a combination of easy to use programming, tools and access to premium content. Wovenmedia was launched in 2011 and the company’s vision continues to grown and evolve under Susie’s leadership.

Susie loves to travel, and has spent equal parts of her life living in three different countries: Ghana, England, and San Francisco, USA.

Zarik Boghossian


Zarik has been the ideal partner to translate Susie’s vision in to a cloud SaaS platform built to scale, and today drives Wovenmedia’s R&D and software development functions. Prior to Wovenmedia, he built a variety of Web 2.0 solutions in various technology sectors including multi-channel marketing, legal and compliance systems, wireless communications and business intelligence. As a former NASA engineer, Zarik understands the importance of building innovative solutions that are stable, secure and scalable.

Zarik loves the Dallas Cowboys, and why not, he watched them win the Super Bowl on his very first day in America!

Omar Rodriguez

VP, Product & Operations

Omar’s product and operations leadership at Wovenmedia have grown out of his extensive experience at the forefront of digital media innovation. Over his career with technology leaders like Cisco, PRN, LatinChannels and Merisel, Omar established a track record of creating, marketing and operating the world’s leading digital media solutions for heavy-hitting clients across many verticals. Omar is also our resident ‘Champion of the Customer’, consistently reminding us that no two users are the same and all require a solution that not only suits their current business but has the flexibility to scale.

Omar has had two brushes with the rich & famous: he onced partied with Dennis Rodman in Las Vegas, and he purchased a classic BMW from Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead.

Joellen Jacobs

VP, Programming
& Production

Joellen has built an unparalleled content library for Wovenmedia, establishing long-standing relationships with over 140 top-tier content partners. Her deep knowledge of original video production from pre- to post-production and everything in between gives her a powerful advantage when negotiating with premier creators and distributors. Joellen has worked with clients ranging from NBCUniversal to AFI, DirectTV, Champ Car, Panasonic and Best Buy, and has honed her expertise working on media development within the retail, television and film industries

If Joellen could have dinner with any two people living or dead, she’d pick Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, sir!

Janette Wood

Director, Sales

Janette is a recent addition to Wovenmedia. She brings over 20 years of sales leadership to the team; from network design to cyber security, she has sold it all! Janette is a believer in the Buffet (Warren not Jimmy) approach to business: integrity, intelligence and energy - without the first the other 2 don't matter. She strives to work closely with clients to find solutions that inspire, positively impact and ultimately propel their success.

Janette is a pretty fast skier, she once raced to a silver medal in the Giant Slalom in Breuil-Cervinia, Italy.

John Polachek

VP, Marketing & Creative

John’s depth of knowledge in branding, advertising and new media made him an ideal partner to help bring the Wovenmedia brand to life. After 25 years working for the likes of Young & Rubicam, Saatchi & Saatchi, USweb/CKS and PRN, his unique combination of talents for naming, messaging, broadcast design and even 3D design have played an integral part in Wovenmedia’s success. His ability to help network owners understand the hidden value of technologies like 4K are invaluable.

John’s idea of a perfect day would include a couple hours of pick-up basketball in the morning, an afternoon hamming it up on stage doing musical theater.
